Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials and AMAC cooperate to develop Thermoplastic Composites business in Europe and MCAM opens the first production line in Heinsberg, Germany, for the manufacturing of the sustainable KyronTEX® material system.

On April 11th 2022, Mitsubishi Chemical Advanced Materials AG (MCAM), a global leader in chemistry and sustainable advanced materials, and advisory and consultancy firm AMAC lead by Dr. Michael Effing, have announced their cooperation to strengthen and develop their composite business activities in Europe. The main focus of this partnership will be on the sectors of transportation, electrics & electronics as well as sports and consumer goods.

As MCAM’s Head of Sales for composites Rolf Dothagen is delighted to share the news of this cooperation with Dr. Michael Effing. A pioneer of business development in thermoplastics, Dr Effing has over two decades of industry experience building up successful businesses.

In the past 25 years, Rolf Dothagen has also developed various thermoset businesses successfully and scaled them up. Now, with this investment and cooperation, he will now focus with MCAM on the dynamic world of sustainable thermoplastic composites. Both companies are looking forward to working together on the European roll-out of MCAM’s KyronTEX® business.

As a unique textile composite technology, KyronTEX® can be applied in the high-volume production of applications such as battery cases, EV charging stations body parts, delivery trucks and busses, helmets, e-bikes, train interiors, containers, to name just a few examples.

Dr. Michael Effing, Managing Director of AMAC GmbH is very honored to cooperate with such a renowned company. MCAM is active in composites along the entire value chain from carbon fiber production to molding parts for production, and with Mr Dothagen, a highly respected entrepreneur. Together as partners, we will position the ground-breaking material system KyronTEX® on the European market for molders and part manufacturers. Dr Effing strongly believes in this sustainable and cost-efficient technology with an excellent CO2 footprint.

Opening of the new KyronTEX® production line in Heinsberg, Germany

With an investment of over 10 Million Euros, MCAM’s new high-volume KyronTEX® production line will be inaugurated in Heinsberg, Germany, on May 10th 2022. The site will offer a capacity of up to 5000 tons/year, and will initially support the production of KyronTEX® for the global market.
